As you know, I have always loved Ayurvedic Techniques, herbs and science. I recently learned about a specific sequence for a Champi Scalp Massage and I loved it. After a few times of practicing the sequence, I have it down pat now and incorporate it into my nighttime routine. I have listed out some specifics that you can follow or better yet - watch the video that I watched and enjoy!
1. Select the Appropriate Oil:
Benefits: Choosing the right oil nourishes the scalp, strengthens hair follicles, and promotes healthy hair growth.
Recommended Oils:
Champi Oil: Inde Wild has a Champi Oil that is great for Champi Massage - use that link for $20 off!
Sesame Oil: Provides deep nourishment and is excellent for calming the nervous system.
Almond Oil: Lightweight and non-greasy, it moisturizes the scalp and promotes hair growth.
2. Stimulate the Entire Scalp and Face: Enhances blood circulation, relieves tension, and promotes relaxation.
How to :
Using your fingertips, gently massage your entire scalp in circular motions, covering all areas including the temples, crown, and nape of the neck.
Extend the massage to your face by gently massaging your temples, jawline, and neck with upward strokes.
3. Gentle Scalp Tapping: Stimulates hair follicles, increases blood flow, and promotes hair growth.
How to :
Using the palms of your hands, gently tap your scalp all over.
This technique stimulates vital energy points and enhances circulation.
4. Scalp Pinching and Gentle Pulling: Stimulates hair follicles, promotes blood circulation, and aids in relieving tension.
How to :
Using the tips of your fingers, gently grasp small sections of your scalp and apply light pressure by pinching and pulling away from the scalp.
Perform this technique for 2-3 minutes, ensuring the pressure is gentle to avoid any discomfort.
5. Cupping the Scalp: Enhances relaxation, stimulates scalp muscles, and promotes blood flow.
How to:
Shape your hand into a loose cup by slightly bending your fingers and bringing them together, creating a hollow space.
Place your cupped hand gently against your scalp.
Gently press and release, creating a mild suction effect.
Move your cupped hand slowly across different areas of your scalp, ensuring even coverage.
6. Apply Palmar Pressure: Relieves tension in the scalp muscles and enhances blood flow to hair follicles.
How to:
Using the palms of your hands, apply gentle, even pressure to your entire scalp.
Move your palms in circular motions, covering all areas of the scalp, including the temples and the base of the skull.
7. Temple Massage with Hand Support: Alleviates tension headaches, reduces stress, and promotes relaxation.
How to:
Place one hand on your temple, applying gentle pressure.
With the other hand, apply upward pressure to the same temple, while the first hand stabilizes the area.
Gently press and release, creating a mild pressure effect.
Repeat on the other temple.
Duration: Perform each technique for 2-3 minutes, adjusting pressure to your comfort level.
Frequency: For optimal benefits, incorporate this scalp massage into your routine 1-2 times a week.
Aftercare: After completing the massage, you may choose to leave the oil in your hair for at least 30 minutes or overnight for deeper nourishment.
Washing: Rinse your hair thoroughly with a mild shampoo to remove excess oil.
You will love this in your new routine. It will relieve your stress, help with hair grown and hair quality and it will just slow things down. Enjoy!
